About Gurukul

India cannot afford to ignore Vedic education which has been a part of the country’s culture for the past 5000 years. We had great manager and scientists in our country before the 20th century as well. Anyone may find brilliant talks on management strategies and scientific insight in our Vedic scriptures, including The Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Purans, and various Upanishads. Further, we also have a great legacy of Vedic literature. Astrology, Philosophy, Vedic cosmology, space research, planets & galaxies, nuclear theory, medicinal science & surgery, concepts of energy, environmental management and countless discoveries, inventions and innovations are part of this literature. Should we ignore them? Of course not. We should know about them and must take efforts to carry the rich legacy forward. Maharshi Parashar Jyotish Sansthan Trust is doing the same since 2013.

History Of Gurukul

Founded by Jyotishacharya Rakesh Pandey on 2nd October, 2013, the Gurukul has come a long way now. In the beginning ‘Updeshaks’ and ‘Acharyas’ were trained who are now spreading the ethos of Indian culture far and wide across the world. In the year, 2007, the Gurukul was christened and reshaped as Bal-Gurukul. The Gurukul has an efficient team of qualified and learned Acharyas, teachers and Administrative staff. About 200 students are pursuing their studies here as per the curriculum of the Sanskrit university of Varanasi.

A Unique Centre of Ancient & Modern Education

Located at the sprawling campus of Chinhat, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Maharshi Parashar Jyotish Sansthan Trust is a unique centre of ancient and modern disciplines of learning. Its key vision is to develop Indian belief system with a scientific temperament in the young minds and offering free and quality education to marginalized children. At the Gurukul, children develop knowledge on Vedas, Upanishads, Vedic philosophy, various scriptures, Science, Sanskrit, Mathematics, English language, Grammar, Social Studies, Yoga & Meditation, Computers, Arts, Music, and sports. Here, poor and marginalized children are getting free education, with free residence facilities, food, clothes, medical facilities and most importantly, support to make a career.

Why Gurukuls are Important in Modern Days

A majority of people fail to understand the importance of the Gurukul system. They consider the Gurukul system to be unstructured and an odd concept. The thought of living with a Guru, assorted curriculum or a disciplined routine can make people wonder how exactly will a child live and learn in such an atmosphere? However, the modern-day scholars have taken a fresh look and realized that there are many teaching approaches from the Gurukul system that can really be inculcated in the modern-day educational system for its good. For example, the Gurukul system focusses on applied knowledge that prepares the students in almost all fields of life. It is a perfect mix of extracurricular activities and academics along with teaching in the area of mindfulness and spiritual knowledge turning individuals into better human beings. Moreover, the Gurukul system of education works with a value-based system with less focus on ranks or fierce competition and more focus on the individuality of children so that they can grow in their area of interest and lead a happy life.

ACTIVITIES

Maharshi Parashar Jyotish Sansthan Trust has developed a balanced curriculum which provides equal opportunities for education in class rooms and also activity based education. Students are given exposure to various activities which develop their personality and give a total development to their mind, emotions, body, intellect and creativity. Students are exposed to Yoga which is in their everyday schedule. They are professionally trained to perform and also for their own well being. It is proposed to certify this training from a government body. Students are given computer classes. Also professional training is given to senior classes onwards.
